What is your favorite dessert? When was the last time you had it?

There are twenty-four hours in each day. We spend about eight of those hours sleeping. That leaves sixteen hours. On an average, approximately how much time each day would you say you spend talking to family members? It can be parents, siblings, grandparents, cousins, aunts or uncles. It can be in person or over the phone. Do you wish you spent more or less time with your family? Why?
Your blog post today will only be one word. That's right, you read it correctly...Just one single, solitary word. I want you to think of a word that when you hear it, it makes you giggle because of the sound of it. (No inappropriate words, please! We're still in school.) My word is SQUID.
Write a four (4) line poem following an ABAB rhyme scheme. (If you don't know what that means, look it up!) Your poem must include four (4) pronouns that you write in all CAPS so they stand out.
For today's post you literally only have to write one sentence made up of 5-7 words. Simple, right? The catch is...every word in th sentence must start with the same letter! [ex. Billy bought Bob buttery banana bread.]
Now that so many businesses have been forced to close up their workplaces, many people are finding themselves stuck working form home. Personally, I am teaching school classes for you guys, and I am also teaching online dance classes for my studio so I feel like I am constantly walking around my house with some device in my hand. How many devices do you currently have at home right now on which you can do work? (laptop, cell phone, iPad, mom's computer...) With how many other people do you have to share this/these device(s)? How is that working out? How good is the wifi in your house/apartment?
We have been using "distance learning" because we have to. We have Coronavirus to thank for that. However, people have been using this platform to take classes for years. Some students in college take classes online because it is cheaper and more time efficient for them. Some working parents take online classes because there is no way they would be able to find the time to leave their jobs and families, even for a few hours a week, to physically go back to school to get a better degree so they take online classes instead. I myself have taken a few online classes over the years so I have personally experienced the pros and the cons of distance learning. Some people love it. Some people despise it. For today's blog post, I only require two sentences, but they must be well thought out, well-written sentences. Tell me...What is the single best thing about distance learning? What is the single worst thing about distance learning? (ex. The best thing about distance learning is...")
All over the world, students and teachers are having to adjust to "distance learning" while schools are closed. It is a very different way of life and many of us are struggling to get used to it. What are some of your friends from other schools doing for distance learning?
George Washington had many accomplishments of which he could be proud by the time he chose to retire from political life. Reread some of his major accomplishments on page 297 of your text. In your personal opinion, which of these do you feel was his greatest achievement? Explain why. (This should be more than just one or two sentences!)
Don't post here until you have reread Chapter 8 - Section 2 in your social studies text. Pay close attention to the chart on page 291.
A few weeks ago, on a chapter test, you wrote an extended response answer as to whether you would be a Federalist or an Antifederalist. What I want you to do here today is share with the class if you would side with the Republicans or the Federalists. Be sure to have a topic sentence that states your opinion. Then, be sure that you have reasons WHY yours is the right opinion. There is a PART 2 to this! Check back later on today and find someone who has a differing opinion from you. Respond to their post by trying to convince them why your side is correct. Remember, this is supposed to be like a classroom discussion so no fighting :) Jesus is watching! If someone has already commented on a post, look for someone else to discuss this with. Happy discussing! I was hoping that it would never have to come to this, but it has. We are strong. We will make the best of this crazy situation that we are in! Since we can't be together in person, we will be using a variety of things to help us communicate. This blog spot is one such place. Here is where we can come together and share ideas when we are covering a new topic or after we have read a great chapter in The Pigman and we want to discuss it. I figured that some of you may have never blogged before. It's okay. I'm a little out of practice myself! Let's try it together. We'll start with this post. Leave your comment here by explaining if you are excited about distance learning or not. Be sure to give a sentence or two explaining why you are or why you are not looking forward to the next week or so of working online instead of in person.
