Well, I'm feeling angry, disappointed, frustrated, and maybe even a bit helpless at this very moment. Yesterday you had class with Mrs. Sposato and you discussed your feelings. I know that the school closing again (even though we have been doing all of the right things) doesn't seem fair. What I want you to do BEFORE you respond to this post...is look up articles about Governor Cuomo shutting down Catholic schools located in hot spots in Brooklyn and Queens. Read about what he is saying. Then look up articles that show the Catholic Church and the Catholic schools' (Catholic Diocese) responses. After reading a few articles, explain your opinion. Do you agree with Cuomo for closing our schools even though we have done nothing wrong, or do you agree with the Catholic Diocese for fighting for our rights to remain open? YOUR ANSWER SHOULD BE A MINIMUM OF ONE PARAGRAPH (6-9 sentences).

What I think is that we should stay open since we did follow the rules the people that didn’t follow them should be in quarantine

I feel frustrated and angry with Governer Cuomo for wanting to close the Catholic schools, even though we have been following all the rules word by word. In my opinion he thinks he is doing it for a good reason, but to be fair he is not he is making us loose our mind and he is giving us more to stress because by closing all the Catholic schools he is making us feel like we are exposed to covid-19 even though he doesn't say it. I agree with the Catholic diocese for fighting for us to keep the Catholic schools open.

I both agree and disagree with Governor Cuomo shutting down all schools in our area. I think that it's unfair for the schools that were taking the necessary precautions. I think that the schools that weren't taking the necessary precautions should be the ones to close. I also think that at the same time, his decision makes sense. Since COVID cases are rising in Queens and Brooklyn, more precautions are needed to keep everyone safe. I think that if in order to keep safe you need to close down schools that aren't following the set rules, the action is justifiable.

I am maddened, frustrated, and exasperated that our school is closing. I don't agree with Governor Cuomo's decision to close our school and other schools. From the articles I've read, many people want the school closed because they feel unsure about sending their kids to school. I am not that kind of person, but I do know and care about COVID-19 but I'm not afraid of it. We have done all of the rules that were said and we cope with it. We cope with it because we all want to return to normalcy as soon as possible. We've followed all the rules and didn't have any COVID-19 case in our building so why must we close our school? We needed to close our school because our stupid governor and the mayor is not thinking outside the box. Rather they are thinking inside the box which is stupid. The students only want to learn and see their friends in school but instead, we must go online again which is a nightmare.

I would have to say I agree and disagree with Governor Cuomo shutting down schools in our area. I disagree because I believe everyone in our school has been taking the necessary precautions to keep us all safe and healthy. Nobody (knock on wood) has contracted the virus in our school and we have been following the rules, so I don’t think it’s fair for us to be shutting down. At the same time, Cuomo may have a point. It’s also better to be safe than sorry and that means shutting down certain schools in areas of higher cases. COVID case numbers have been increasing so shutting down schools is just another way of trying to keep us extra safe.

I personally do not care if we have to shut down to go back to remote. I'm fine with any option as long I still go to school. I can learn both ways and I don't think it matters too much. Any way of learning to me is fine for me. Though I do think going to school is better in person but if we're closing down I'm also fine with that. I don't have an opinion on this since I'm fine with both ways.

In my personal opinion, I do not care if we either stay in school or go back to remote. I understand both sides of Governor Cuomo and the catholics schools. I am staying neutral since I like school in both remote and actually being in school. Both sides to me are equally correct which balances it out, which means I will support any decision that will be made. Even though I am neutral, I don't think we really need to be closed. It might be a bit extreme but it's still a good reason to close. School is always the same to me, so no matter what as of right now I am staying neutral.

Under such critical situations, I both agree and disagree with Governor Cuomo shutting down our schools again. Yes, it is unfair to the schools that have been following the rules and working hard to make the situation “normal” again. However, some schools didn’t follow those rules and the cases started to rise again in Queens and in Brooklyn. Since everyone is in danger of catching COVID, they have no choice but to take every precaution to ensure our safety. On the other hand, being in lock down again may prevent COVID from spreading. Therefore, shutting down schools is the right move to make when cases are started to rise again.

I both agree and disagree with Governor Cuomo’s decision. I think it is unreasonable for Cuomo to be closing our schools even though we have done nothing wrong. I believe it’s unfair because we have been taking the right precautions, with zero cases and we are still getting shut down. Whereas other schools that were not taking the necessary precautions should close. However, Governor Cuomo is also right. I think he is just taking extra precautions. The COVID cases in our area have been rising so I see where he is coming from. In order to keep us all safe I believe that Cuomo should not close the schools that have been doing the right thing, with zero cases and close the schools which are affected with COVID.

I feel like Governor Cuomo is closing Catholic schools for no reason. It's not fair how we have to pay the price for other people actions when they don't follow the rules, but we do. It's kind of like how if two kids do something bad while the teacher is absent, the entire class gets in trouble. And I find it dumb that he is keeping Archbishop Molloy High School open just because he went there as a teen. It's also not fair how he just thinks its ok to just change Bishop Molloy from a hot zone for Covid-19, to an orange or yellow zone. Just because a certain group of people don't want to follow the rules and get sick, doesn't mean that everyone has to pay the consequences. The people who are sick and didn't want to follow the rules should be staying inside in general. And lastly, if Governor Cuomo were to be more serious and have people where more protective gear like face masks, gloves, or face shields, it could lower the chances of Coivd-19 in New York.

I’m pretty angy about school getting shut down again. Although I have a lot of respect for governor Cuomo, I feel he could’ve done a lot better than just shutting everything down like he did. No one in our school had COVID-19 and although there were some cases in our area, the people who have it would know! It’s not like they’re going around coughing on everyone, these people are currently probably quarantining themselves. I’m angry too, I’ve already written emails in hopes that I will get Cuomo’s attention (most likely not) and get him to reconsider his decision.

What I think is that we should stay open since we did follow the rules the people that didn’t follow them should be in quarantine which in some school they didn’t and that would not be good at all and it not safe for them and us I will hope there will be no more schools that have to shit down but that’s not possible they have to because of the government. In some schools people follow the rules like 6ft feet apart and other schools just don’t care in any way or form.it Sri is that we have to shit down even tho we followed the rules and everything we where told to and we still have to shut down that’s not fair. As well as keeping us safe from the virus which is helpful in ways because we wouldn’t be sick if we where at home but also we gonna burn our eyes out looking at the computer all day and everyday.

I don’t really have strong feelings about Governor Cuomo closing the school for two weeks. I disagree and agree with this decision. I agree because even though we are taking the right precautions, we should not risk getting COVID. He is just trying to take extra precautions. I disagree because, yes, we are taking extra precautions, but we have been being careful and have zero cases. Overall, I am fine with any decision, since I am learning either way.

Regarding of the uprising of COVID cases in our area I would have to agree and disagree with Governor Cuomo. I can agree with Cuomo because he is just trying to take precautions. Also I think Cuomo is just trying to keep the COVID numbers down. I can see why he’s closing schools. However with the part of closing schools that have been doing the right thing in taking precautions. Instead shut down the schools with cases of COVID or close schools that don’t follow the safety precautions.

Part of me sees where Governor Cuomo was coming from and the other part of me is very upset. I am mostly upset because even though some schools were following the rules, there were also those that weren’t causing us all to go down together. This is not fair at all to me. I also understand him because shutting down the schools will keep the spread from starting again. I believe that this shut down will all be for a good cause in the end. It is for our safety after all.

I’m frustrated with Governor Cuomo Of him closing schools. We did nothing wrong we followed all the requirements to be in school. We started having a lot of cases in our zip code but that doesn’t mean schools should close again. Our school maintained six feet distance and wore masks. Cuomo should have thinned twice instead of rushing to close schools and yes he is trying to keep numbers down he should Have not closed schools that are following the rules. In the end the shutdown will be effective in keeping cases down In our area.

Governor Como is shutting down schools for safety precautions, ours being one of them. My feelings towards this is actually mutual, but I am surprised. They are shutting down our school for safety precautions, even if our school has been following the rules. Something may happen, and I don"t think it's a good idea to risk it. But the school was following the rules and being safe throughout the building. I'm still confused with this situation, but safety does come first. So, I do not agree or disagree with the plans that have been made for Catholic Schools.

I feel very annoyed, exhausted and disgusted with Cuomo. There is no need to close ALL schools but I do understand that he is trying to keep us safe. I don’t want him to close our school because I enjoy going to school now. Online learning has made me realize that going to school isn’t as bad as I thought. Cuomo needs to rethink his decision and pick out the schools that do have it and schools that don’t. I don’t want us to shut down because other careless students didn’t listen. I don’t want to have to take their punishment because they couldn’t follow the rules. Now everyone in our diocese is being punished and Cuomo doesn’t care

I agree with Cuomo 100%. I find it upsetting, but he's trying to think about our future. Out of nowhere the COVID case rate went up. We might be listening, but other people aren't. I think Catholic schools should be fighting to stay open, but it would make zero to no sense being that it was said and done. I don't like sitting behind a computer screen all day, but if it's keeping everyone healthy and safe... it makes everything okay again. "You win as a team, you lose as a team"- Eddie Murray

I would have to agree and disagree on Governor Cuomo having to close the school for two weeks. Why I agree is because we don't wanna risk getting the virus even though we are doing the right thing take cautions .I feel like we need to we don't need to have done everything right about staying 6th feet and ETC but we still have to be safe. This situation about Governor Cuomo closing our school has made me furious and anxious. On this situation, I would has to disagree and agree on it. I am disagreeing with Cuomo because our school has done nothing wrong and we had no cases. Even though we were following the rule, we still get shut down which makes me furious. I have only been in school for a month and now I have to go back to quarantine. However, there is a rise of cases near us, which makes me kind or anxious. I want to be safe better than sorry, so I believe Cuomo did make the right decision in keeping us safe. He made a wrong decision about closing our school.

I agree with governor Cuomo. I think what he's doing what is right because just to make sure that we don't get any cases of coronavirus. Believe me I wish school could open back again normal time. I also think that we have to be as safe as possible against this coronavirus. I don't want to look at my computer screen all day. So Cuomo is trying to get us back into school so things can go back what it used to be.

Everyone will have different opinions about this matter and mine will be no different. As other may say I can understand why he would want to close it. However it is not fair to those schools who actually follow the rules to close down. I feel frustrated and surprised. One main reason is that they are closing our school and we have been following all the safety procedures. Hopefully we get the chance to continue to follow the rules.

COVID-19 is still out there, and it's concern hasn't died out yet. This led Governor Cuomo to close down many schools in Brooklyn and Queens. Although many people are fine with this, the Catholic Diocese aren't, and they are fighting for their schools to remain open. In my opinion, this doesn't really concern me. What I'm trying to say is that I'm just going to stay neutral for now. The thing is, I've actually expected something like this to happen sooner or later because of the virus. Now, the only thing I can do is to sit back and see what happens.

I disagree with him because he’s making us quarantine even though we just started getting used to the outside. I also find it unfair how schools were being very cautious and still have to quarantine. I can say I disagree and agree with Cuomo in some aspects. Maybe what he is doing can prevent something bad from happening. I just don’t think he had to close all the schools in this zip code. I wish he had judged each school individually to choose which would close. Maybe if he had done it that way, we could still be going to school in person. Hopefully our school is only shut down for 2 weeks.

Why is Cuomo shutting down our schools? I completely disagree with him because our school is super safe. Closing schools won't help a lot considering out of 35 schools, there were 2 people with the coronavirus. I find that I learn better in person, but now I have to go back home doing online classes for 2 weeks. I fear that it might not even be in 2 weeks because in March, we left school for 2 weeks and it became 4 months. Based on survival rates of Covid-19, it is pretty easy to recover from this virus. I hope schools would reopen soon, but I can never be sure if they will.

I feel somewhat mad at Governer Cuomo but its for a good cause. He doesn't want the sick people over here to spread covid. While I enjoy going to school, I do think that our safety and health comes first. I definitely think that all the other businesses and establishments should shut down and not our school. A high school, Archbishop Molloy, was half way in the orange zone. The next day they were magically in the yellow zone. I don't think this is fair considering we half to shut down but not them. We have been following all the safety regulations and we still have to shut down. I am not the happiest about this situation but there's nothing we can do about it but hope that last year's situation doesn't repeat itself.
