I was raised by very polite people. Every single person in my family taught me how to be polite, not only to your family but to everybody. Having good manners is a choice, if you choose to listen to your mentors, then you will probably end up as a polite person. On my father's side, manners matter in many ways. They always expected you to have good manners at the table, be polite with others, and be polite to yourself. Therefore the person that taught me a lot about manners is my aunts.

To me, having good manners is not only about saying "please" and "thank you". It's also about being kind and respectful towards everyone. It's basically being a good person. My mannerisms, if I have any, come from the adults that are around me such as my parents, my teachers, and a few of my parents' friends.
